What are the different types of residential garage cabinets available on the market?

There are basically three types of residential garage storage cabinets: the base cabinet, the top cabinet, and the large cabinet.

Each of these cabinet types offers specific features to meet your garage storage and organization needs.

  1. Base Cabinets | These base cabinets, of various dimensions in terms of width, height, and depth, and are available with hinged or sliding doors, with or without locks, and adjustable shelves. They can even accommodate a sink and faucet and can be combined with multi-drawer cabinets for even more versatile storage. In the drawer version, they offer compartmentalization in both width and depth and PVC drawer bottoms. Solid wood or stainless-steel countertops rest on these cabinets.
  2. Top Cabinets | These cabinets, of various dimensions in terms of width, height, and depth, are available with standard doors, retractable doors or sliding doors, with or without locks, and adjustable shelves. They can be complemented with LED lights directly underneath to provide bright, energy-efficient lighting for your work surface.
  3. Large Cabinets | These large cabinets, of various dimensions in terms of width, height, and depth, are available in several configurations. These large cabinets accommodate all types of items with fixed or sliding shelves as well as your clothes, garbage can or tool caddy. Some models even accommodate air hose reels, water hose reels, etc.

Using cabinets to meet your garage storage needs involves using all three types of storage cabinets. A good combination of these three types of cabinets will ensure optimum storage, maximization of available space and an aesthetically pleasing design.

I like that you talked about large garage cabinets which can accommodate two various items and they can also come with fixed or sliding shelves. I will share this information with my husband because it will help us choose the right design for the garage this year when we have that area renovated. And it would be great if there is enough storage area for the items we have to prevent the clutter and save space in that area.
