Annie & Stéphane’s Garage in DDO
Garage Makeovers
The owners of this double garage, which was unfinished when they purchased the property, wanted to renovate and do a complete makeover to maximize its storage capacity, and finally make it a practical and useful space.
The design objective, first and foremost, was to take advantage of the remarkable ceiling height at the back of the garage. This objective was achieved by designing custom furniture to accommodate the most frequently used items as well as the occasionally used seasonal items. This large ensemble utilizes the entire back wall. It also had to integrate a Gardena hose box, the only water source in this garage, as well as a (future) fridge. It features a small workbench and convenient wall organizing surfaces on each side of the staircase to the main entrance. On each lateral wall, expansive wall organizing surfaces can accommodate a variety of long handle tools and other equipment.

Budget
The overall renovation of the garage was extensive. It included a charging station for a future electrical vehicle, new heating and lighting, the addition of electrical outlets, insulation, finishing of the cement foundation, drywall repairs, new paint for walls and ceiling, and new matching coverings for the floor, staircase, and baseboards. The final result is nothing but spectacular.
