André’s Garage in St-Lazare
Garage Makeovers
The owner of this garage wanted a new configuration to maximize its storage capacity without compromising its role as the main entrance to the residence.
The project involved a complete renovation. That meant removing all ceramic tiles at the bottom of the perimeter walls, insulating the bottom of the walls, repairing the walls and ceiling, replacing door and window frames as well as installing baseboards. Then a durable, attractive, and easy to clean polyaspartic floor covering was installed. The project also required new electrical and lighting, a new garage door opener, replacing the staircase and handrail leading to the residence, and finally, repainting the entire space.

The makeover combines Duralum custom designed laminate furniture as well as Rousseau steel furniture for a bold, dramatic effect. Duralum furniture was installed on the left-hand side wall, wrapping around the two windows and the fridge and freezer, to provide maximum storage space from floor to ceiling. It is also seen on the right-hand side wall as you enter the residence. Here a series of large closets were installed, crowned with additional storage cabinets up to the ceiling. Another storage solution was provided in the entrance alcove where practical, easy-access cubbies, with adjustable shelves, hold a series of bins while a matching bench allows the family to take a seat while putting on shoes and boots. As a finale, the unmistakable panache of Flaming Red steel cabinets from Rousseau makes this garage a real showstopper, and a perfect complement to the high-performance German sportscar. A large workbench maximizes the back wall to offer its owner all the amenities including tool cabinets and a spacious stainless-steel countertop integrating sink, faucet and LED lighting. It is also worth noting that, wherever possible, PVC wall organizing surfaces have been added to help organize a variety of items such as long handle tools, a ladder, coats, or small hand tools.
