Garage storage
Beyond parking one’s vehicles to protect them from the weather, why do we consider the garage as a place to store so many different items? The simplest answer is that the garage is often attached to the house and we have easy access to it, just like any other room in the house.
In some cases, it also reflects the fact that the garage sometimes offers generous dimensions far exceeding the space occupied by vehicles. The unoccupied space quickly finds itself filled with all sorts of items that have not found a place inside the home.
One only has to think of the classic “2nd refrigerator” or even the freezer essential to many families. We must not forget the many bicycles and other sports equipment. Or the large bins that we prefer to keep inside because it is more convenient, and close by, to dispose of our waste and recycling. In short, like it or not the garage is a popular place for storage. On the other hand, can we make better use of the garage instead of using it as a huge shed where mess is king? The answer is yes. A good cleaning and planning of how it can be used can make a world of difference. Think about it, would you live with this kind of a mess in the main entrance of your home? We assume not. So why accept it in your garage, particularly since it is most often used as the main entrance of your home. To ask the question is to answer it.
