A great investment

This makeover story involves an owner who wanted to give a second life to the garage of the residence converted into condos he had acquired. He had reserved the garage in the basement of the building for his exclusive use.

Even if he was the only one using this space, it still had to show a separation – with a yellow line – in the event of resale and others looking to use the garage.

Once the garage was emptied, our job was to clean the ceiling and walls, and repaint everything. This was not an easy task because these surfaces had not seen paint in an awfully long time. Once this step was completed, we moved to the next stage which was to cover the floor with our Espazzo finish, including the yellow dividing line, as well as replacing drain covers with new aluminum checker plate covers. Next a series of custom cabinets were built and installed incorporating a stainless-steel sink and faucet and a small workbench to adorn the back wall. This gave the owner plenty of storage space for the items he could not fit in his house. The side walls were also utilized, each covered with PVC slatwall panels to maximize its storage capability. In addition, a large hose reel with a handy self-rewinding hose, a long handle brush with a squeegee with integrated water jets for cleaning the floor. In short, all the ingredients were blended to give this garage a second life. Now the owner enjoys a well-appointed space, tidy, easy to clean, stylish and extremely practical with an outstanding return on his investment.
