A garage rescued from the flood
This is the makeover story of an owner who unfortunately suffered major water damage in the kitchen of his home. Almost a foot of water went in, resulting in a destroyed ceiling and the walls of the garage directly below. A company specializing in disaster restoration was hired by the insurance company to bring the garage back to its original condition. The owner also took the opportunity to make some improvements including lighting, which was lacking.
We were called in midway through the restoration to present a custom proposal. Once the proposal was approved, the work schedule was established based on the completion of the restoration work.
The garage was completely redone and freshly painted when we started to replace the floor with our Espazzo finish. Completed in one day, this coating now provides the garage floor a stylish, practical and easy to maintain finish. From there, we added a 115 ft hose reel, a stainless steel sink and faucet plus two steel cabinet areas – one with three large cabinets with multiple adjustable shelves for all the items the family buys in bulk which we placed on one of the side walls. On the back wall we place 3 base cabinets with stainless steel countertop adjacent to the stainless-steel sink to provide a proper work area next to the sink. The other side wall was transformed with floor to ceiling PVC organizing panels designed to store bikes, long-handled tools and other items. The end result is nothing short of spectacular. No more traces of the disaster and now a garage with all the desired storage and ample room for vehicles. It shows anything can be saved from a flood, even a garage.
